The magic that attends all beginnings, the pains that accompany all births – these are privileged memories
that belong to the proud origin of what we now casually call the UAP.
The United Architects of the Philippines (UAP), awardee of the Professional Regulation Commission's Most Outstanding
Accredited Professional Organization of the Year 2002, is an organization with a proud historical background which encompasses
the history of three architectural organizations that integrated into the UAP:
- Philippine Institute of Architects (PIA),
- League of Philippine Architects (LPA), and
- Association of Philippine Government Architects (APGA).
On December 12, 1974, preceded by months of negotiations, the members of the Boards of Directors of these
three organizations signed the Constitution and Bylaws of the new UAP. On March 26, 1975, it received Certificate of Accreditation
No. 001 from the Professional Regulation Commission officially confirming UAP as the only duly accredited bona fide professional
organization of architects in the Philippines .
